Proyecto Salesiano Casa Don Bosco

The Proyecto Salesiano Casa Don Bosco is a Catholic foundation run by the Salesian congregation. The program consists of a shelter and several prevention-based programs for street children in Guayaquil.

The shelter is a residential facility for boys and offers both academic classes and a trade school.  Shelter staff work with both children and their families towards family reunification whenever possible.

As the boys enter the 10th grade, or approach 18 years of age, they are prepared to continue studying and working with an aim of self-sufficiency. Boys who have no family, or whose families are unable to provide a safe environment for them, are prepared for independent living.

Rostro de Cristo volunteers serve primarily in the shelter as teacher’s aides and within the social work programs.
