In 2009 Rostro de Cristo volunteers began working in Mt. Sinai and ground was broken on a new community house in memory of former board member Tom McDermott. In August 2010 Fr. Ronan visited Mt. Sinai to give mass, bless Casa Tomas and welcome the 2010-2011 community of volunteers (download the mass program).

Living in Mt. Sinai has been filled with spirit of excitement as our community settles into our new home. Everyday is a blessing, filled with opportunities to grow in relationship with our Ecuadorian neighbors and learn more about the language and unique culture. We are all newly working in association with Ecuadorian foundations in fields encompassing medicine, after-school help, ministry to street children, and education. Additionally we have been actively working throughout the parish as catechists and music ministers. To celebrate the construction of our new home, Casa Tomas, a beautiful house blessing and mass were celebrated. The prayers and songs used during the ceremony was an artful blend of the two cultures, and were enjoyed by all.
